Women's professional tennis will return for the 14th consecutive year to Albuquerque, N.M. for one of the longest-running Pro Circuit stops on the USTA Pro Circuit, the $75,000 ColemanVision Tennis Championships, held Sept. 18-25.
The ColemanVision Tennis Championships is the longest-running professional sports event held annually in the state of New Mexico.
The CVTC returns to Albuquerque's scenic Tanoan Country Club. This year's CVTC will include several players ranked inside the Top 100 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
Defending champion at the CVTC is Mirjana Lucic (pictured above) of Croatia.
This year's tournament entry list is still in the works, but American teen sensation Melanie Oudin (who recently captured the US Open mixed doubles title with Jack Sock) is among those already committed to play at this year's tournament.
US Open 2011 Junior girls' singles titleist Grace Min (below, in red) is also among those entered at the ColemanVision.
So the CVTC is an EXCELLENT opportunity for tennis fans and spectators to catch talented young up-and-comer, and see them in an up close and personal setting.
In the last four years that the USTA Pro Circuit Event COLEMANVISION TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS have benefitted the New Mexico Youth Tennis Foundation, major inroads in community tennis have been made.
This one-week event has exposed more than 3,000 Albuquerque-area youth to the opportunities available through tennis and helped provide after-school tennis programs for an additional 3,000 more!
The NEW MEXICO YOUTH TENNIS FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization formed in 2007 by ColemanVision Tournament Director and former USTA Southwest president Sue Jollensten, whose mission is to promote youth tennis and support programs providing education and opportunity to all New Mexico Youth through tennis.
The tournament is named after Dr. Stephen Coleman, a world-renowned laser eye surgeon who is based in Albuquerque, and who is a passionate tennis player and lover of the sport. Come out and support the ColemanVision this fall!

On Saturday, Sept. 24, also at Tanoan, 'An Evening With Roy Emerson' co-sponsored by the Friends Forever Foundation, to support New Mexico children with cancer and the New Mexico Youth Tennis Foundation will be held.
