The USTA Southwest Section would like congratulate all of the winners of the Valley of the Sun and would also like to make a special mention to our first two graduates of the 10 and Unders, who reached their 10 participation points, Erica Stutz and Jonathan Auh.

Since completing the progression rules they may choose to play up to the 12 and Under, or whichever event they choose. They may also elect to stay in the 10 and Unders if they choose until they age out also. Congratulations!

2012 marks the official mandatory 10 and Under orange ball 60-foot court format. The Southwest Section had been a front runner in implementing this format, beginning in 2011.

The Southwest Section also mandated that ALL 12 and under events be played with the Green dot ball and The Valley of the Sun event was the first Southwest tournament of 2012 to see this in action.

It was good to see some great tennis across the board and we look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming Phoenix Junior Championships presented by All About Tennis (Level 4) Feb 11-13 in Phoenix, Ariz.
