8 STEPS
FOR A SUCCESSFUL
USA TEAM TENNIS LEAGUE


STEP 1.  INITIATE THE PROCESS
Decide when you want to hold a league of USA Team Tennis.  Communicate with the local Chartered CTA or the section office your intentions and get any assistance from them they have to offer. Decide how much you need to charge each participant for the league.  Decide when to hold a registration.  Get school permission to hand flyers to students.

STEP 2.  DELIVER THE FLYERS
League participants will learn about the league through a flyer distributed through the schools.  Contact your local Chartered CTA or the section office for sample flyers.  Distribute the flyers to all participating schools.

STEP 3.  HOLD AN OPEN HOUSE
Schedule a time for league participants and parents to attend an open house to have any questions answered and recruit parent coaches for each team.  This is a good time to inform all participants about the program and its goals.

STEP 4.  RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS FOR COACHING
Use the open house to get your team captain’s and setup a training session.

STEP 5.  FORM TEAMS AND COMPLETE ROSTERS
Put all participants on teams and complete roster forms.  If you are offering T-shirts place your order at this time so the T-shirt will be available to the participants to use a team uniforms.

STEP 6.  TRAIN VOLUNTEER COACHES
Conduct a USA Team Tennis coaches clinic for all coaches.

STEP 7.  SCHEDULE PRACTICES AND MATCHES
Have team captain’s schedule practice times with their team and hand out league match schedule at first match.

STEP 8.  COMMUNICATE SEASON INFORMATION
Inform each team captain weekly on progress of league via TennisLink Team Tennis
